Years with an HN recommendation, 2007–2026
Cited as an example of Chernobyl YouTuber content and of casual handling of radioactive material.
A YouTuber explores the Chernobyl zone in 2013, takes a gamma spectrum of a hot reactor fuel fragment, and jokes about a radioactive ant bite. It is a hands-on amateur look at radiation in the exclusion zone.
“This lady is bitten by a radioactive ant, live on camera.... near Chernobyl.” (HN, 2016)
Genuine question from someone that doesn't understand. Is she exposing herself to more radiation than is safe? Is there a very high likelihood she's going to make herself sick? I watched this one [this video] and she seems to be pretty callous with that hot particle.
