HN commenters cite the series as a documentary on the Evergreen controversy and as evidence in arguments about ideology and campus culture.
The first of three short films by Mike Nayna about Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying's experience at Evergreen State College, focusing on the Equity Council and the controversy around it.
“the great, 3-part, documentary[3] by Mike Nayna” (HN, 2019)
I've been following the free speech issue on universities for almost a year now, and I think the 2008 may be on the mark, though the first well known incident I can name is the Lawrence Summers controversy in 2005 [1]. The free speech issue is mainly a talking point of conservatives because these are the ones most impacted. Students complain about being afraid to voice their opinions for fear of being ostracized or punished on grades. It's enlightening to read through a few issues of The College Fix [2]. Relevant interesting book is The Coddling Of The American Mind by Jonathan Haidt and Greg Luka off. But it gets really entertaining when you watch some youtube videos on this subject, for example the great, 3-part, documentary[3] by Mike Nayna. Three-part documentary on Evergreen State College controversy
On YouTube, watch the Evergreen State College 3-part documentary by Bret Weinstein. This is much more common than you think, through your anecdote, unfortunately. Granted, this happened in 2017, so a few years after your time in college, but I would argue "peak wokeness" sits between 2016 to today, in large part due to Trump's first election win. 1. This gives a reason why "college kids" are no longer considered adults.

At some point I hope the left takes back the NYT from the ideologues. This is the same trite attack on science and bullying of scientists we’ve seen before when it doesn’t comply with their social justice beliefs [1], and this time it’s more dangerous than the creationists that tried to do something similar for their beliefs because as this article shows truth is not a priority in this ideology and they control universities as well as cultural institutions like the NYT. Another thing that is more worrying is that social justice activists are using the technicality of them not worshipping a God per se to bypass secular protections against enforcing religious beliefs institutionally. Evergreen documentary cited as evidence of ideology as religion
I disagree that it is not logical to point out the religious aspects of some of people that subscribe to intersectional ideology. I hope you can hear me out since you had such a vocal objection, and that you can point out flaws in my reasoning. You might agree that creationists when expressing something resting on their faith might have some scientific methodology issues. I think we might agree that it is not illogical to point out that some research done by creationists have a religious overtone. Research outside their creationist dogma might not warrant such scrutiny. Can you after watching the following two videos, which contains core thoughtleaders in intersectionality like DiAngelo, that intersectionality does not have a religious overtone? [1,2] If not, why not? If so, why is it then illogical to point out that the authors are expressing something that to at least some degree seem to rely on intersectional dogma and that this has a religious overtone?
