Cited as a nostalgic example of a CLI that orders pizza whenever HN discusses terminal-based ordering.
A short 2007 demo of Pizza Party, a command line program that orders Domino's pizza from a UNIX-like terminal. The video shows the designers placing an order using the software.
“reminds me a little of the old-school Pizza Party terminal app from the '90s” (HN, 2018)
That seems a rather big privacy issue on Domino's part. I wonder if it also opens the doors to some kind of social engineering attack, with someone pretending to be Domino's asking for money over the phone.
