Cited as the evidence for the quirky claim that an accelerated Amiga is the fastest classic Mac.
RMC tests running a classic 68k Mac environment through emulation on an accelerated Amiga and compares it to real Mac hardware. It explores whether an Amiga can be the fastest classic Mac.
“basically an Amiga with an accelerator card potentially makes for the fastest environment to run 68k-based Mac OS” (HN, 2020)
RetroManCave on YouTube had an interesting video recently that investigated the performance and capabilities of running a Mac emulator on an Amiga vs. a real 68k Mac, and which actually was faster: [this video] Very impressive stuff. Being able to run Mac software would mean access to Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Framemaker, Microsoft Word and Excel and other business/DTP software that unfortunately wasn't really available natively on Amiga. I suspect lots of people used Mac emulators to make their Amiga a viable school/work machine, in addition to all the creative fun and games the native platform afforded.

Check out this video[0], basically an Amiga with an accelerator card potentially makes for the fastest environment to run 68k-based Mac OS (System 7) ... [0] [this video]
Accelerated Amiga as fastest environment for 68k Mac OS
I use it because I used them throughout the 90s and just find them really nice machines to use for a lot of things. Almost everything's offline first, but it's functional enough to get things done. Some things are more fiddly, but that's to be expected. Most of what I do is creative, a mix of Art, music, programming, writing. I've done things like covid data analysis, I've written the odd letter on there, some of my newsletter gets written on there. I also use it for things like Usenet, IRC, Telegram etc. There's also a lot of really good games for it. I've heard classic 68k Mac owners have similar experiences. Of course, some say the Amiga is also the fastest classic Mac[1]. [1] - [this video]
