HN recommends it as a delightful sequel to the original ad, brought up in threads on trademarks and the original campaign.
Velcro's follow-up to its "Don't Say Velcro" ad responds to viewer feedback, with a humorous take on trademark usage and alternative names for hook and loop fasteners.
If you've never seen the video ad that went along with this campaign, it's hilarious and worth watching, as is the follow up. I love the good humor about the whole thing. And it has made their campaign stick in ways that other similar campaigns have not. [link] [this video]
Hilarious Velcro ad campaign video and its follow-up.
That is one of my favorite videos! Content advisory: there is one swear word in it that is bleeped out. Near the end they mention some other trademarks, and adding to the fun they bleep out those too - and even put CENSORED overlays on the singers' mouths. They also made a followup video that is just as delightful (and slightly more NSFW): [this video] And here is a fun article about some other companies' friendly alternatives to the traditional C&D letter: [link]
Delightful Velcro follow-up video, slightly more NSFW than the original.
Thank you, this was great. There’s also a feedback response video [0] (of course they are making fun of German, Klettverschluss is so easy to say!), and a behind-the-scene video [1] where they show you their two actual lawyers that somehow were roped into participating ;) [0]: [this video] [1]: [link]
Velcro's feedback response video poking fun at German pronunciation.
