Offered as an example of live-coded music and a fun entry point to Sonic Pi.
Sam Aaron live codes an ambient electronic set using Sonic Pi, the music programming environment he created. The performance shows code driving music in real time.
“Sam Aaron is the guy behind the project, he does a lot of ambient type stuff” (HN, 2017)
Guys if you haven't seen Sonic PI ( [link] ), this is also a great tool! You can write beats using a Ruby DSL and it runs them real time. I sat down and did this in an hour: [link] Sam Aaron is the guy behind the project, he does a lot of ambient type stuff: [this video]
Have you heard of live coding? Writing code in front of a live audience that plays music? I doubt anything like that has been done before the last couple of decades. I don't know the history, maybe people dabbled with it way back when, but it's an actual thing now. I hope it really catches on! [this video]
