Years with an HN recommendation, 2007–2026

HN suggests it as a vivid, hands-on way to understand circuits, including for a blind child learning to program.

Steve Mould shows Spintronics, a set of mechanical components such as resistors, capacitors and transistors linked by chains, that give an intuitive feel for how electrical circuits work.

“they're basically mechanical circuits and it looks super cool.” (HN, 2023)

on HN thread Ask HN: Alternatives to Scratch for a blind child?
I saw the code jumper tech at a conference once, it was actually really thoughtfully done, I had no idea it cost 1k though! One other option I've seen is this Spintronics platform: [link] I first saw it on Steve Mould's youtube channel, they're basically mechanical circuits and it looks super cool. [this video]

on HN thread Making a Traversable Wormhole with a Quantum Computer
>By studying this quantum theory on the processor, we are able to... probe the dynamics of a quantum system equivalent to a wormhole in a model of gravity. Not a real wormhole, but rather a model of a wormhole which they say has the same dynamics. A bit like this if I'm not mistaken: [this video]
Analogy: a model reproducing dynamics rather than the real thing.
