Mostly cited as an example of people still wanting nuggets after seeing how they are made, and sometimes criticized as misleading.

Jamie Oliver shows school kids how chicken nuggets are made by blending skin and mechanically reclaimed meat, as part of his school lunch campaign. The kids react with disgust.

“Even after showing disgust at the whole process, all of the kids still wanted to eat chicken nuggets at the end.” (HN, 2021)

Reminds me of when Jamie Oliver tried to convince kids that chicken nuggets were bad by showing them how nuggets are made. Even after showing disgust at the whole process, all of the kids still wanted to eat chicken nuggets at the end. [this video] I think it takes a lot more than logic to convince most people to change opinions - especially on matters of preference or taste.
Kids still wanted nuggets despite seeing how they are made.

When will you nuts finally realize that the many headed hydra of capitalism regains 2 heads for every 1 you cut off? Boom-bust cycles, including environmental ones don't do anything to harm capitalism. Rather, they just make it stronger. AI systems have locked in existing power structures forever and guarantee that we will technologically advance fast enough to solve for or at least adapt to climate change. I'd argue that the whole climate movement for the last 20 years stymed and significantly harmed the left as a result. The anti-nuclear and some anti-vax positions taken by parts of the green left in particular were anti-scientific and have cost that portion of the party the support of many scientist types. Scare porn about what will happen if you don't de-develop society and reduce your CO2 footprint just makes folks want to eat even more burgers. Same reason why the majority of non cyclists hate cyclists. It's the same thing when you show a ton of kids how a chicken nugget is made. They all go "eww" for a moment, then you ask them "who wants chicken nuggets?" and literally every hand goes up[1] . We want our slop. We don't care that it's slop, and these days, emotions of cruelty, subjugation, and schadenfreude are political dominant and in the zeitgeist. [1] [this video]
Kids say eww to nuggets then all still want them.

That "guy" on Youtube is Jamie Oliver, a world class chef who made a documentary on processed food in American diets. [this video] Some people find him a bit too preachy or wears his heart on his sleeve. However his battles for healthier food in schools is commendable.

This is why I haaaaaaaaate the Jamie Oliver chicken nuggets video: [this video] Except for the part where the kids totally no sell his smug act and he just stands there dumbstruck. Those chicken trimmings are... chicken. Human history is the history of us figuring out how to extract more edible bits from the animal than our jaws can along (that's how we got soup, among a lot of other things). The idea that we should only eat the most presentable primal cuts of the animal is bizarre and weird to me.
